The education system has changed very slightly in the last few centuries. Education should have started changing drastically in the early 1990's with the advancement of the Internet, but we still have the same structure of teaching today as we did a hundred years ago. We lecture about a subject for a period of time then we test our students on the material that was taught. There are a few educators that are now stepping out of the box and using technology for their benefit and for the benefit of the students. I also believe our districts have fell in that same rut, districts are still operating on past structures. I don’t know of any districts in our area that are utilizing enterprise architecture or even looking through the lens of one. Most districts still have an “educational plan “without thinking about integrating technology, because of this they have become outdated and behind the times. Technology and information is increasing, and will continue to develop, that’s why technology needs to be bombarded in our schools and districts. It is almost unquestionably necessary to incorporate new technology into our curriculum as instructors and as a whole in our districts. If we do not combine a proper educational plan alongside our technology plan we are already behind. Without combining the two plans district leaders and technology leaders will end up working against each other because information is moving in multiple directions which in turn will cause both parties to lose valuable resources. There is so much we need to change in our district, schools and classrooms. This class has caused me to reevaluate my whole thought process about education and technology.
